Maverick Gaming Establishes Corporate Headquarters in Kirkland, WA
By admin | | 0 Comments |

WASHINGTON - Maverick Gaming LLC (“Maverick” or “Maverick Gaming”) today announced they are in the process of moving their corporate headquarters to Kirkland, WA, a reflection of the company’s ongoing and long-term investment in Washington State. Previously located in Nevada, Maverick Gaming’s new headquarters will be located at 12530 NE 144th St. and will support at least 50 jobs. “As we all work together to build a pathway through the impacts of the pandemic, we welcome Maverick Gaming to Kirkland as a partner in supporting family-wage jobs in our state’s regulated gaming industry,” said Kirkland Mayor Penny Sweet. “In just a few years, Maverick Gaming has shown a commitment to Washington – whether it is through their Maverick Cares community giving program or because they embraced being the largest private-sector employer of Teamsters Local 117. I look forward to Maverick Gaming continuing to deepen its investment in Kirkland and across our state.”“I grew up in Hoquiam and am humbled and excited to be locating Maverick Gaming’s headquarters in my home state,” said Maverick Gaming CEO and co-founder Eric Persson. “Establishing our company’s corporate headquarters in Kirkland is just one of the ways that our team is prioritizing local commitments as we expand our investment in Washington. Our team works every day to offer something safe, fun, and accessible for our guests, and to be good neighbors doing our share of supporting the people who live and work in the places we operate.” Kirkland-based Maverick Gaming employs approximately 2,000 teammates across the state, representing the largest private sector employer of Teamsters Local 117 and the only gaming company with a union workforce in Washington. On average, its properties generate $13 million annually in local tax revenues. SB 5212, a bipartisan proposal to allow licensed card rooms and race tracks to offer regulated sports betting in Washington, was recently heard in the State Senate’s Labor, Commerce & Tribal Affairs Committee. For Maverick, the ability to offer sports betting would create approximately 10 family wage jobs at each of its facilities licensed to allow this popular pastime and generate millions of dollars in new revenue for critical state services. A law passed in the 2019-2020 legislative session allows a tribal-only marketplace for sports betting, but Maverick Gaming continues to advocate for a system that can responsibly allow sports betting at a limited number of existing, already-regulated facilities like its cardrooms to create a new source of tax revenue, help combat the illicit marketplace for sports betting, and spur economic opportunity for all. While large destination casino resorts and concert venues are widely recognized in Washington, Maverick Gaming properties are modest, neighborhood options for a game or a bite to eat that is close to home. Despite their smaller size, fees paid to the Washington State Gambling Commission by non-tribal card rooms like Maverick’s are part of what the agency relies on for enforcement of the rules and regulations. Maverick Gaming recently contributed $194,381 to the Evergreen Council on Problem Gambling as part of its commitment to prevent problem gambling. About Maverick Gaming Maverick Gaming operates 19 card rooms in Washington located from Kirkland to Tukwila to Lakewood to Kennewick as well as a handful of properties in Colorado and Nevada. Maverick Gaming currently employs approximately 2,000 team members in Washington State and intends to continue investing in its licensed card rooms and planned entertainment developments across the state. Maverick Gaming is a proud employer of Teamsters Local 117 workers at its locations throughout the state as part of its commitment to providing sustainable, family-wage jobs. About Maverick Cares Maverick Gaming’s investments benefit local governments and communities where it operates. Founded in late 2019, Maverick Cares is an employee-led ‘good neighbor’ program that partners with other community-based organizations to support people in need, an effort made even more critical during the novel coronavirus pandemic. Maverick’s commitments extend to its philosophy on responsible gambling. Maverick’s ‘self-exclusion’ policy gives self-identified problem gamblers opportunity to avoid risking their wallets and their well-being by restricting access to its cardrooms from problem gamblers. Maverick Gaming founder Eric Persson is from Hoquiam, Washington. His company is named for his son, Maverick.

Man Utd 1-0 West Ham Player Ratings: McTominay the hero, Van de Beek flops again
By admin | | 0 Comments |

Manchester United bounced back from their disappointing draw with Everton at the weekend by defeating West Ham 1-0 after extra time in the FA Cup fifth round at Old Trafford.Substitute Scott McTominay scored the winner in the first half of extra time as the Red Devils booked their place in the quarter-finals.Wonderkid Amad Diallo was named on the bench for the first-time since his big-money transfer from Atalanta last month, but did not see any game-time.Man Utd v West Ham: Player Ratings, Match Stats, Player StatsSo which players stood out most?✔️ GOOD PERFORMANCEScott McTominay: 7.8The Scotsman came off the bench to replace Nemanja Matic after 73 minutes and proved to be Man Utd's ultimate hero on the night in extra time.He timed his run from deep to perfection as United launched a lightning-fast counter-attack. Without breaking stride, he fired home clinically from inside the area to break West Ham's resistance.McTominay now has an impressive six goals in all competitions for Man Utd this season, a more than decent return considering the position he plays in.Alex Telles: 7.7It has been a fascinating fight for the left-back shirt at Old Trafford this season between Alex Telles and Luke Shaw, and the Brazilian did his chances no harm on Tuesday. He was United's most available attacking outlet throughout the match, bombing up and down the left flank. He delivered an impressive 10 crosses in the normal 90 minutes alone and had over 100 touches. He was taken off as the game entered extra-time after really putting in the miles.❌ BAD PERFORMANCEAndriy Yarmolenko: 5.8Yarmolenko is having another miserable season in East London and has scored only one goal in all competitions. He made no impact once again versus Man Utd. He made no dribbles, created no chances and had just one attempted shot which was blocked. Worst of all, he only made five passes in his time on the pitch. It came as no surprise when he was hooked by manager David Moyes after 54 minutes.Donny van de Beek: 6.0Van de Beek continues to struggle to justify his big transfer fee and failed to make the most of his opportunity against West Ham.Given an opportunity from the start by Solskjaer, Van de Beek made little impact. He had no dribbles or crosses and made no chances as once again his lack of creativity was apparent. He attempted only one shot that was blocked before being subbed on 73 minutes.⭐ STAR MANFred: 8.0The Brazilian was everywhere and never stopped for the whole 120 minutes. He was involved in everything Man Utd did, making a game-high 154 touches. His passing was excellent as he boasted a 90 per cent pass completion rate - with 43 of these passes in the final third. He was also as tenacious as ever, winning nine duels and all of his aerial challenges. Crown Resorts unfit to run its Sydney casino
By admin | | 0 Comments |

Associated Press: SYDNEY – Australian gambling company Crown Resorts is unfit to run its new Sydney casino because it facilitated money laundering and had other problems, a regulator said Tuesday. Commissioner Patricia Bergin recommended several changes that Crown would have to make before it could run the casino in its 2.2 billion Australian dollar ($1.7 billion) Sydney tower. The Crown Sydney Hotel Resort’s restaurants, bars and guest rooms opened in the harborside Barangaroo precinct in December without its centerpiece casino while Bergin completed her inquiry into Crown’s fitness to hold its gambling license. Bergin has left the New South Wales state Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority, the gambling regulator, to decide the precise changes that Crown would need to make before the casino could open. Crown said in a statement it would work with the regulator on Bergin's findings and recommendations. Crown, which owns Australian casinos in Melbourne and Perth, was granted a 99-year license to operate the Sydney high-roller casino in 2014. But news media reported in 2019 allegations including that Crown engaged in money laundering, breached gambling laws and partnered with junket operators linked to organized crime. Crown denied the allegations and dismissed the reporting as unbalanced and sensationalized. Bergin, a retired judge, began her inquiry into the media allegations in January last year. Her recommendations include a forensic probe to make sure all money laundering in Crown accounts has been uncovered. She also recommended a restructuring of Crown's board of directors. Crown entered into a trading halt on the Australian stock market earlier on Tuesday ahead of Bergin’s report being made public.

By admin | | 0 Comments |

Real Madrid closed the gap at the top of La Liga to five points with a 2-0 win over Getafe on Tuesday night.Karim Benzema and Ferland Mendy scored the goals in a must-win game for Zinedine Zidane's men in the Spanish capital.Madrid now have put the pressure on league leaders Atletico Madrid, who still have two games in hand on their city rivals.Real Madrid v Getafe: Player Ratings, Match Stats, Player StatsSo which players stood out in Madrid?✔️ GOOD PERFORMANCEMarcelo: 7.6The veteran Brazilian is no longer the world-class left-back he was a few years back but he showed in this performance that he still has something to give. The 32-year-old provided a fantastic cross for Mendy's goal, whipping the ball in from way out and putting the ball on a plate for the Frenchman. He had 94 touches of the ball, second only to Mendy, and made a hugely impressive 33 passes in the final third - 15 more than anyone else on the pitch.❌ BAD PERFORMANCEMarco Asensio: 6.0Far from a disastrous performance, but certainly Madrid's weakest cog on the night. The Spaniard made little impact in an attacking sense, with no dribbles or chances created, no shots and no touches in the box.He was taken off after 76 minutes.⭐ STAR MANFerland Mendy: 8.8The standout player on the pitch - and by a long distance. Mendy doubled Madrid's lead to make the game safe with a clinical finish - sliding in to sweep home Marcelo's cross. He touched the ball more than anyone else on the pitch - 99 times - but also lost the ball less than anyone who played the full 90 minutes (only four times). He had an incredible 98% pass completion rate, completed three dribbles and won six of his eight duels.Real Madrid v Getafe: Player Ratings, Match Stats, Player Stats .

WR Addison Copeland decommits from Rutgers after getting a Notre Dame offer timeAgo('2021-02-09 15:50:01 -0600') football Edit Adam Friedman • Rivals.com East Coast Recruiting Analyst Adam Friedman joined Rivals.com as the East Coast Recruiting Analyst in 2012 and covers D1 CFB recruits from SC to Maine & out to PA & WV. Media requests- RivalsFriedman@yahoo.com Buffalo native Addison Copeland III committed to Rutgers back in mid-September and became their first commitment of the 2022 class. On Tuesday, Notre Dame offered the the Buffalo (N.Y.) Western Maritime receiver and he opened up his recruitment. RIVALS' REACTION... This is a tough break for Rutgers, who found Copeland early in the process and hoped to bring him in to lead a solid group of receivers in the 2022 recruiting class. The Scarlet Knights certainly won’t stop recruiting him but the allure of Notre Dame proved too much to keep Copeland from decommitting. There will be other schools that push for Copeland throughout the process and he is certainly not going to limit his focus to just the Fighting Irish. There will surely be more to come on Copeland’s recruitment over the next few moths. Certain data provided by STATS, LLC © 2021 Verizon Media. All rights reserved.

Rivals250 WR Brian Thomas picks LSU
By admin | | 0 Comments |

THE SITUATION The decision is finally in.After not only months, but years of wrestling with his college decision, Rivals250 wide receiver Brian Thomas signed with LSU on Tuesday, six days removed from National Signing Day last week. The Tigers offered Thomas as a sophomore at Walker (La.) High School and have been in a heated battle with Alabama for several years. Texas A&M and Georgia entered the race over the spring ahead of his senior year and made it an even more difficult call for the four-star prospect. Ultimately, LSU edged out the Aggies for Thomas' signature, giving Coach Ed Orgeron sign Louisiana's top-five prospects for 2021 and seven of the state's top 10.LSU bolsters its 2021 receiving haul with Thomas to pair alongside Rivals250 prospects Deion Smith, Chris Hilton and Jack Bech, as well as fellow Louisiana four-star Malik Nabers. Thomas is the nation's No. 19-ranked wide receiver and No. 140 player overall. "I can be the X receiver and come in and work hard and possibly start and have a big opportunity to play right away," Thomas told Rivals after narrowing his options down to four SEC teams. "It's a great feeling to hear that I can come in and know I can step up to his role and be as good as him because he's one of the best wide receivers in college football, so for them to tell me that, it's an honor. I have a really good relationship (with Mickey Joseph) and I talked with Coach O the other day .. like two days ago. He was talking about coming in and working hard if I were to come there. On the Zoom calls, they've been showing me how I'd benefit from LSU and how I could come in and be a starter if I worked hard." "Brian is one of the most versatile athletes I’ve worked with," said Baton Rouge-based trainer Ken Anio, who works with Thomas in addition to notable athletes like fellow LSU signee Chris Hilton and NFL receiver Russell Gage."He prides himself on perfection when he shows up to work. He has set high standards for himself and it has showed. His wingspan and length added with explosiveness and great ball skills have really raised the ceiling for him. His game reminds me a lot of Allen Robinson and Kenny Golladay." RIVALS REACTION Thomas is a dual-sport standout that was offered not only as a wide receiver, but as a basketball player as well. He stretches 6-foot-4 and 190 pounds with verified 4.4 speed as a sophomore entering his junior year.In Thomas' second varsity football season, he reeled in 75 passes for 1,272 yards and 17 touchdowns. As a freshman, he was a key cog in Walker (La.) High's state championship basketball squad. In a shortened senior season, Thomas managed 507 yards on 30 receptions with seven touchdowns and was an Honorable mention on the Louisiana Class 5A All-State team. With a broad frame and notable size, Thomas is a massive target for his quarterback that can stretch the field vertically, attack in the short and intermediate parts of the field as a chain-mover and has run-after-the-catch potential. He's a bonafide home-run threat with rare physical gifts and athleticism. Thomas is a long-strider with excellent balance and runs downfield like he's running the court. He presents mismatches for opposing defensive coordinators in jump-ball situations. He has fantastic body control and strong hands in addition to special body control. Thomas flashes in the return game and with the ball in his hands and his blend of size and speed makes for a ton of big splash plays. He also has breakaway speed in the open field, which is so rare for a 6-foot-4 wide receiver. He's continuing to improve as a route-runner and undoubtedly has the physical tools to be a No. 1 wide receiver in the SEC.
